Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data IQI (“IQI”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, and the choices and rights you have. It is written to meet the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1.Who we are

IQI is a mobile app for interview practice and psychometric-test preparation. The “data controller” responsible for your data is currently [YOUR FULL LEGAL NAME], operating as a sole trader trading as “IQI”, based in the United Kingdom. We intend to transfer operation of IQI to a UK limited company; when that happens this policy will be updated to name that company as the controller.

For any privacy question or request, contact us at iqinterviewer@gmail.com.

2.The data we collect

Information you give us at sign-up: your name and email address, and optionally your phone number, age, desired job and career goals. You may optionally add a CV and cover letter (today we record only the file name you choose; see section 3).

Account information: when you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address.

Activity you create in the app: your psychometric-test results, mock-interview answers, feedback reports, and your action plan.

Subscription information: your subscription tier and how often you use paid features. Payment is handled by Apple — we never see your card details.

We do not collect special-category data (such as health or biometric data), and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.

3.How and why we use your data

We use your data to provide and improve IQI:

Where your data lives: most of your data — your profile, test results, interview history and action plan — stays on your device and is not stored on our servers. On our servers we keep only your Apple identifier, email, subscription tier and usage counts.

A note on CVs: today IQI records only the file name of a CV you add, not its contents. If we later introduce CV analysis, your CV text would be sent to our AI provider to generate advice; we will update this policy and ask for your consent before enabling that.

4.Who we share your data with

We share data only with the service providers who help us run IQI (“processors”), each under terms that require them to protect it:

We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect our rights or users’ safety.

5.International transfers

Our AI provider (OpenAI) processes data in the United States. When your data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on safeguards approved under UK data-protection law — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses — to keep it protected. [Confirm the transfer mechanism in your provider agreements.]

6.How long we keep it

We keep your server-side account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete Account), we permanently erase your account and usage records from our servers, and the app removes your data from your device. Deleting the app also removes the data held on your device.

7.Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access a copy of your data; correct it; erase it; restrict or object to how we use it; port it to another service; and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and data directly in the app, or contact us at iqinterviewer@gmail.com for any other request. We aim to respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.

8.How we protect your data

Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Server data is encrypted at rest by our hosting provider, and secret keys are held in a dedicated secrets manager, never in the app. We minimise what we store on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9.Age

IQI is intended for users aged [16] and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

10.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as IQI evolves. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app. Contact: iqinterviewer@gmail.com.

Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and IQI for using the app. By using IQI, you accept them.

1.Acceptance

By downloading, accessing or using IQI you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2.The service

IQI provides interview-practice tools, psychometric-style tests, AI-generated feedback and preparation planning. We may change, add or remove features over time. The app requires an internet connection for its AI features.

3.Your account

You sign in using Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple account secure. You must be at least [16] years old to use IQI. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.

4.Subscriptions & billing

IQI offers paid subscription tiers. Purchases and renewals are processed by Apple through your App Store account, under Apple’s terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; you manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. We may change prices with notice; changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.

5.AI feedback and test results — important

IQI’s feedback, scores, difficulty ratings and personality insights are generated by automated systems and are provided for practice and self-development only. They are not professional, legal, medical, psychological or financial advice, and are not a guarantee of any job, interview or assessment outcome. They are not a substitute for official employer assessments or qualified professional guidance. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete — use your own judgement.

6.Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse IQI, including: attempting to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service; using it unlawfully; uploading content you do not have the right to; or trying to extract other users’ data. We may suspend or end access that breaches these terms.

7.Intellectual property

IQI, including its software, question banks and design, belongs to us and is protected by law. The content you create or upload (such as your answers and CV) remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the service to you.

8.Disclaimers & liability

IQI is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on AI-generated feedback. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). [Have a solicitor confirm this clause for your jurisdiction.]

9.Termination

You may stop using IQI and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property and liability) continue after termination.

10.Governing law & contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. Questions about these terms: iqinterviewer@gmail.com.
